Pay-at-the-Pump:

Identification Number (PIN) Based POS Transactions:
PIN Based POS Transactions will
post to the member’s account immediately when performed at the merchant.
- Home Financial
Services (HFS):
Available Balances:
Available balances on member’s accounts will reflect the hold amounts
that were placed on the member’s account due to pre-authorizations.
Pre-Authorizations:
Pre-authorizations will be displayed for members to view in HFS in the
History screen. The pre-authorizations will display with transaction
amount of $0, but the detail for the pre-authorization will display
specific details of the transaction, including but not limited to:
merchant name, merchant address, transaction number, terminal id, and the
pre-authorized amount. Pre-authorizations will continue to be displayed
in HFS even after the transaction is posted. SPECIAL NOTICE:
Pre-Authorization transactions will not print on member’s statements.
Postings:
Once the transaction comes into the credit union and is posted to the
member’s account, the posting transaction will also be displayed in HFS.
The transaction will display with a transaction amount of the final amount
of the transaction and the specific information for the transaction will
also be displayed as the details of the transaction. This specified
detail information will include but is not limited to: merchant name,
merchant address, transaction number, terminal id, and transaction amount.
- Statements:
Pre-Authorizations:
Pre-Authorizations will not print on the member’s statement.
Postings:
Transaction postings will print on the member’s statement with the
detail that is contained in the details of the transaction in the Reliance
System.
- Courtesy
Pay-Opt-in/Opt-out:
If a member has chosen to Opt-In to the credit union’s Overdraft
Protection program then when a pre-authorization is sent for a POS
transaction being performed by a member, the system will take into account
the member’s negative limit along with their checking account balance and
available balance on their Rapid Advance Line of Credit (if applicable) in
determining if the transaction can be pre-authorized. This does not apply
to ATM withdrawals.
If a member has chosen not to Opt-In to the credit union’s Overdraft
Protection program then when a pre-authorization is sent for a POS
transaction being performed by a member, the system will take into account
the member’s checking account balance and available balance on their Rapid
Advance Line of Credit (if applicable) in determining if the transaction
can be pre-authorized. The member’s Courtesy Pay Limit will not be
considered when making the decision. This does not apply to ATM
withdrawals.
- Partial
Pre-Authorizations:
If a pre-authorization is sent
thru for more than what is available in the member’s account, the system
will try to perform a partial pre-authorization, or approve a
pre-authorization for what is available in the account. For example, if I
am trying to purchase gas by paying at the pump and the gas station sends
a pre-authorization for $100 but I only have $50 available in my account,
we will approve the pre-authorization for up to $50, thus allowing me to
purchase up to $50 in gas.
